As Bishop Walkowiak announced earlier this year, it has been more than a decade since the Diocese of Grand Rapids underwent a pastoral planning process. It is now time to create an updated plan to assess more intentionally the needs and resources of our local church, along with exploring opportunities for growth and evangelization.
The process involves data collection, parish visits, and dialogue to identify challenges and opportunities facing our parishes, schools, and the diocese.
On Thursday, January 30 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Newminster Hall, we will have a town hall for anyone who would like to learn more about how this process will impact our parish.
- We will present the key findings for the Southern Deanery and create an understanding of the present reality and projected future.
- We will also discuss “possibilities for future ministry” and identify those that are priorities to our parish.
The priorities that come out of our parish meeting will be brought back to the diocesan-wide planning committee later in February.
