… God has bestowed upon his people the gift of song. God dwells within each human person, in the place where music takes its source. Indeed, God, the giver of song, is present whenever his people sing his praises …

At St. Robert of Newminster, music has always played an important role in the liturgical life of our parish, and this tradition flourishes to this day. With a rich legacy of musical leadership including Nicholas Palmer, Dr. Peter Kurdziel and Lori Martin that continues under the guidance of Director of Liturgical Music Jane Muldoon VanHouten, the assembly has an opportunity to worship with music from the noble heritage of the Catholic Church and is an active participant in all the liturgies through spirited singing of psalms, chants, acclamations, hymns, and songs. Our five parish choirs enhance our church’s liturgies with a distinguished and varied collection of sacred music. All choirs are under the direction of Music Director Jane Muldoon VanHouten, and new choir members are welcome throughout the year. All interested singers (and parents) are invited to contact the music office (janev@strobertchurch.org) for further details.
