Thank you to all the donors, sponsors, bidders and members of our parish community who supported the Black and White Gala on Nov. 8 at Noto’s Old World Italian Dining, organized by the St. Robert Catholic School Home and School Association. Your presence, enthusiasm, and generosity made the night truly unforgettable. Thanks to your support, an amazing $68,000 was raised for our school!

THE JOY OF ADVENT
Rebecca and Stephen Grabill joined us at St. Robert of Newminster on Sunday, Nov. 9 to share from the Joy of Advent, a book they co-authored, as well as about they and their children’s journey to joining the Catholic Church, and to help prepare and inspire us for our Advent journey. SOCK HOP & SOCK WRAP DINNER & FAMILY SERVICE PROJECT
Thank you, SRN family, for your generosity of donated items and time for this year’s Sock Hop and Wrap! 200+ participants wrapped socks, hats, mittens and gloves – enough to fill 12 large bags – which were delivered to God’s Kitchen on Nov. 13!

VETERANS DAY PROGRAM
We are so thankful for each and every veteran from our parish, the Ada/Cascade community, and the United States. We can never repay you for the sacrifices you made while serving to keep our freedom safe. Last Friday, November 14, the O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors) hosted St. Robert’s Fifth Annual Veterans Day Program to honor the veterans of our parish.

The St. Robert Catholic School children sang. The Patriot Riders led the Pledge of Allegiance. Veterans or family members led us in posting the colors. The Kent County Honor Guard held a remembrance ceremony. The Ionia VFW played taps The Knights of Columbus presented a Gold Star Flag to the family of Sgt. Peter Paris.

MASS: Please join us for Mass at 9:00 a.m. on both Thursday, Nov. 27 (Thanksgiving Day) and Friday, Nov. 28.

Eucharistic Adoration will not be offered on Thanksgiving Day nor on Friday, Nov. 28.

• The Parish Office will be CLOSED for Thanksgiving on Nov. 27
  and 28.
• The School Office will be CLOSED Nov. 26 – 28. Both offices will resume normal business hours on Monday, December 1.

• Faith Formation sessions for elementary through high school on

For Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2, a global day of giving, St. Robert is fundraising for our parish’s new
Samaritan Fund which helps us extend Christ’s compassion to those facing real and often heartbreaking struggles. Our goal is to raise $20,000.

Watch our parish social media and email/texts over the coming days for Samaritan Fund stories and make your donation now through 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 2. If you give ON Dec. 2 during 24-hours of giving, you can spark some good-natured competition and help amplify our donations through Challenge Grants sponsored by the Catholic Foundation of West Michigan. When you give through the Diocese of Grand Rapids website at either of the links below, credit card fees are covered by the diocese which means 100% of your donation goes to our parish’s Samaritan Fund.

Ladies of the parish, begin the Advent season refreshed, inspired, and rooted in faith! Join us for an evening with Guest Speaker Kathryn Whitaker, sixth-generation Texan, Catholic convert, and author, as she shares her heart, humor, and wisdom on finding God’s grace in the midst of our everyday lives.

Host a table of women (up to 8), bring a friend (or two!), or come as you are, and leave with new friendships and renewed joy for the Advent journey ahead.

Make Christmas a little brighter for a family in need this year by being part of St. Robert’s Adopt-A-Family program. No cooking is required! Just purchasing and delivering ingredients for a festive holiday meal and gifts a few days before Christmas to a family in the Grand Rapids area. Families are referred by HELP Pregnancy Aid, Bethany Christian Services, and San Juan Diego Academy.
