There’s something truly special about a wedding day. It’s a joyful celebration of love, family, and faith—and, most importantly, the beginning of a couple’s lifelong journey together in the sacrament of matrimony.
Volunteers in this ministry work together to support the bride and groom, their families, and guests by helping to ensure the wedding is both memorable and spiritual; assisting with the rehearsal, and coordinating details with the priest, wedding party, and musicians.
As a member of the team, among the things you may be asked to do are:
- Help prepare the church
- Welcome and mingle with family and guests.
- Help pin on boutonnieres.
- Guide guests into the church before the ceremony.
- Assist with keeping the wedding party organized and in the right place at the right time.
- Be a calm, friendly presence throughout the celebration.
The commitment is 1–2 weekends per year, attending the rehearsal (which typically begins at 5:00 p.m. on a Friday) and the Saturday wedding (which usually begins at 1:00 p.m.). Training and a stipend are provided. To volunteer to serve in this ministry, or if you have questions for our ministry leads, please see below.
