Nourish for Caregivers is Coming to SRN!

Never before in history have we seen the number of people worldwide struggling to juggle the demands of every day life with that of caring for an aging, ill, or disabled loved one. Globally, there are an estimated 349 million family caregivers who are hungry for spiritual support – that includes members of our own faith community. Deacon John Ashmore and the Pastoral Care team are so excited to bring Nourish for Caregivers to our St. Robert community!

What is Nourish? Plain and simple: the Nourish program cares for caregivers! Unlike other caregiver support groups, Nourish stands alone in offering a Christ-centered program to address the spiritual needs of caregivers, along with their practical and emotional needs.

When will the group meet? Our first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 16 at 1:00 p.m. The in-person sessions will last about 90 minutes. Zoom sessions will also be offered. For those interested in the virtual option, please contact Deacon John Ashmore or Hans Whitmer for more information.

What can I expect during a session? The sessions will be a blend of prayer and discussion led by Yvonne Prouty (a retired hospice nurse), Bob Funaro (a licensed Psychologist), and Deacon John Ashmore. Support and resources will always be available outside of the session times.

Is this really worth it? YES! Your spiritual and mental health are always worth it! And the Nourish for Caregivers data outcomes* are impactful:

  • 93% of caregivers reported stress levels decreased
  • 93% said they are more hopeful
  • 99% found reconnection and support
  • 94% said their faith and prayer life improved

We invite you to check out the Nourish for Caregivers website for additional details. As always, we are here for you! Don’t hesitate to reach out:
