It is an appropriate time, as we focus on the Lenten practice of almsgiving, to launch our participation in the 2026 Catholic Services Appeal (CSA), the annual fundraising campaign for the Diocese of Grand Rapids.
This weekend, Father Tony will be sharing at Masses about the start of the campaign with a “heads-up” to please watch for, open and peruse your CSA packet arriving in mailboxes this week and containing letters from Bishop Walkowiak and Father Tony as well as details and a CSA pledge card. In addition, new for 2026, those who gave to last year’s campaign will have received by mail this month a CSA Impact Report sent by the diocese.
2026 CSA Goal
Like every parish in the diocese, St. Robert of Newminster will have a parish CSA assessment to meet which is calculated based on revenue collected at the end of the fiscal year. Any contributions received above our assessed goal will be returned directly to the parish.
The overall diocesan CSA goal for 2026 is $7,918,000.
What does my gift to the CSA support?
Your support of CSA benefits both parish and diocesan ministries, including formation of our future priests, the ongoing education of teachers and faith formation staff, proclaiming Christ’s message through the media, evangelizing our youth, and aiding members of our community struggling with family issues, hunger, and homelessness.
In the coming weeks, you are invited to prayerfully consider how sharing your gifts will benefit many – in our parish and beyond.
