Starting Summer with Spirit at SRN

Follow Me: Eucharistic Procession for Corpus Christi on June 22

All are invited to join in our Eucharistic Procession for the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ immediately following the 11:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 22. A Eucharistic procession is a wonderful opportunity to worship our Lord and pray together as a community as we witness our faith publicly to the world. The procession will take place around our campus and along the section of Ada Dr. in front of our church and will conclude with Benediction back inside the church. We will exit and re-enter through Door D.

Families, download and print this set and make your own model of a Eucharistic procession with a priest, servers, and lay people! Download the set from the National Eucharistic Revival blog page here: https://www.eucharisticrevival.org/post/eucharistic-processions-and-pilgrimages-for-children.

A scheduled power outage on Friday, June 13 from 9:00 a.m. to noon will impact our entire SRN campus. The parish office will be closed that day. PLEASE NOTE: That Man Is You! will still meet at 6:00 a.m. in Marian Hall and 9:00 a.m. Mass will still be celebrated that morning in the main sanctuary of the church.

Catholic Services Appeal Update: 72% Reached

If you have returned your Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) pledge card, thank you!

Our parish goal is $281,142 and 100% participation. We’re excited to share that, to date, we have reached 72% of our parish CSA goal with pledges totaling $243,390. We’re well on our way, but not to our goal quite yet!

If you have not yet responded, please pray thoughtfully and make your pledge or gift this week — return your CSA pledge card to the parish or make your pledge online at grdiocese.org/csa. If you are in need of a pledge card, please contact the parish office, (616) 676-9111.

If you have other CSA-related questions, please contact the business office at businessmanager@strobertchurch.org.

Remember that any amount collected over and above our goal remains in the parish. Thank you again for your generosity!

Additional Upcoming Events

Senior Citizen Picnic is back for 2025!

Our parish hosts this event especially for senior citizens living in nearby nursing homes and senior centers. For many who attend, it is their only outing for the entire year. We expect to welcome about 160 guests on Aug. 9 for “A Garden Party” with lunch, games and prizes.

Our St. Robert parish community is incredibly generous with your time, talent and treasure and it makes the day special for everyone.

THE COMMITTEE IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING:

  • Gift cards and monetary donations (any amount to Walmart, Target, Meijers, Walgreens, Amazon and Aldi’s). Please turn them in to Molly in the parish office or to any committee member. Please note “Senior Citizen Picnic” on any monetary donations.
  • Donations of physical items (must be new) so that each of our guests is able to take home a gift.
  • Volunteers! To serve in various roles leading up to and on the day of the event.
Find volunteer sign up and donation information at
strobertchurch.org/events/senior-citizen-picnic/ or beginning this weekend, see the bulletin board in the narthex nearest to Door D.

Questions? Please contact a committee member: Dawn, 616-437-1390; Cindy, 616-240-5990; Anna, 616-706-6271, or Nancy, 616-450-2354.

Extra! Extra!

  • Pray and fast for our priests – Bishop Walkowiak is encouraging Catholics throughout the diocese to consider praying and fasting for the priests of our diocese regularly on the second Friday of every month that they will continually open their hearts to God’s plan and God’s will for them. The next second Friday is June 13. Our bishop extended this invitation during his Chrism Mass homily which you can watch on the Diocese of Grand Rapids YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/ic6b17c68V0?feature=shared.
  • Reminder! Parish Office Summer Hours – Parish office summer hours are in effect from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Please note the summer schedule as follows: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday, 8:00 a.m. to Noon. (except on June 13 when the parish office will be closed, see details above.)
  • Mark your calendars! Faith Formation registration opens July 1 –  Whether your child is new to religious education or continuing their journey, we’re excited to walk with your family in faith this year. Watch for details in the bulletin and online. Contact Hans Whitmer, director of faith formation with questions, hwhitmer@strobertchurch.org or (616) 676-9111, ext. 117.
  • Looking to get more involved in our parish or school? Visit the SRN website at strobertchurch.org/ministries/ or look inside the Parish Ministry Guide mailed to parishioners earlier this year for opportunities. In both cases, you’ll find a list of ministries, descriptions and contact persons you can reach out to for more information. Or contact Lynn Mossner, director of evangelization, lmossner@strobertchurch.org. She would be happy to meet with you personally to help you discern your gifts and learn more!
  • Events around the Diocese – For a calendar of events hosted by or happening around the diocese, including events for the Jubilee Year of Hope, visit https://grdiocese.org/events/list/. For a list of parish festivals happening around the diocese, visit https://grdiocese.org/parish-festivals-guide-2025/.

Enjoy this day in God’s presence!
