St. Robert of Newminster Parish is partnering with USPS and Noto’s Old World Italian Dining for the annual National Association of Letter Carrier’s STAMP OUT HUNGER Food Drive on Saturday, May 11! This will be the largest one-day food drive in the nation!

Mail carriers will pick up food donated to the Drive while on their routes. They will bring the food to Noto’s for our volunteers to sort and pack. All food collected that day will benefit the SRN food pantry partners, Northwest Food Pantry and The Other Way Ministries. Currently, 1 in 6 Americans are facing hunger, including millions of children, senior citizens, and veterans. Let’s come together and live out our parish mission by serving God and neighbor through charity and service!

Last year, families of St. Robert Catholic School participated in the Stamp Out Hunger Drive. They processed roughly 11,000 (yes, eleven THOUSAND) pounds of food in 6 hours. Across the Greater Grand Rapids area, volunteers processed over 120,000 pounds of food.

90 MINUTES OF YOUR SATURDAY COULD FEED HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY!

Volunteers should sign up for 90 minute shifts, starting at 11:00 a.m. through 6:30 p.m. If the timeslot for your availability is full, don’t worry – join us at that time anyway. We need at least 20 families or individuals to sign up and show up for each shift. Many hands make light work. Dress for the weather and bring water bottles, portable chairs, and a few boxes in which to pack food. Click the red button below to sign up for your shift!

Can’t volunteer but still want to help? We need tables on which to sort and pack the food and tailgate tents to protect us from the sun or rain. We also need a box truck or enclosed trailer to transport the food donations in once they have been processed and packed. Contact Nancy Chandler if you’re able to loan us these items for the weekend at (616) 676-9111 ext 116 or email nchandler@strobertchurch.org.
