Fr. Weber’s announcement & Other SRN News

Father Weber announces new pastoral assignment

Father Logan Weber, our parish’s parochial vicar, announced his new pastoral assignment at Masses this past weekend. Bishop Walkowiak has appointed Father Weber as pastor of St. Patrick Parish and School in Portland, Mich., effective July 1. Father Weber shared his gratitude with the parish saying that it is a testament to the St. Robert community: “You’ve drawn out for me what a parish priest is supposed to be and I thank you,” he said.

He reflects further on his priesthood, his new assignment and beginning to say goodbye in the May 18 bulletin, pg. 2, available online and at Masses this weekend. Congratulations, Father Weber! We will miss you, but you go with our prayers and blessings. A farewell celebration for Father Weber is being planned for Sunday, June 29 following the 11:00 a.m. Mass. Details coming soon; please save the date!

To view additional pastoral appointments announced by Bishop Walkowiak, visit grdiocese.org. Please pray in a special way for Father Weber and all priests who are receiving new assignments, for the faith communities impacted by these appointments, and for an increase in vocations to the priesthood.

Continued prayers for our parish’s new Catholics

During this year’s Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday, April 19, we joyfully welcomed eight individuals into full communion with the Church and as members of our parish family. Our parish’s new Catholics are: Soren Vandekieft, Karlie Bunting, Jane Tomaszewski and William Barron (pictured above in purple following their baptisms) and Jailine Gomez-Tellez, Jennifer Marchand, Tony Sieler, and Suzanne Fuchs, who were baptized in another Christian faith, and received the sacraments of first Eucharist and confirmation at Easter Vigil.

Their journey of faith, marked by prayer, reflection, and the grace of the Easter Vigil, has been a beautiful witness and we are honored to walk alongside them. Please continue to welcome them into our parish family, offer encouragement, and pray for their continued growth in the Catholic faith and the grace to live out their new beliefs.

To view photos from the liturgies of the Easter Triduum including Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil, please visit our parish Flickr account here. Thank you to Nancy Chandler who photographed each of the liturgies!

Did you know? One of our parish’s new Catholics, Jane Tomaszewski, is the descendant of a canonized Catholic martyr? Read about her journey to joining the Church on the National Catholic register website.

Counting down the days to Grandparent Camp!

Grandparent and Grandchild Camp is just a month away! Have you registered yourself and your little love bugs yet?

The camp, June 16-18, is an opportunity for grandparents to share their faith and create memories with their grandchildren (ages 8 to 12). This three-day learning experience engages participants with breakfast, prayer, games, crafts, and songs in a faith-filled environment.
