Respect Life Month in October
In October, the Catholic Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month, and the first Sunday of October is designated as Respect Life Sunday.

Month of the Holy Rosary in October
The Catholic Church also observes October as the Month of the Holy Rosary, highlighted by the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary on Oct. 7. As we invite Mary’s intercession during Respect Life Month, why not also devote time to building the devotion of praying the rosary into yours and your family’s weekly routine?

You know them best for their legendary pancake breakfasts, but do you know about the many other ways SRN’s Knights of Columbus Council 8117 supports our parish and various charities/initiatives throughout our broader community including Help Pregnancy Aid, Protect Life Michigan, Intersect Senior Care, Veteran Services, FOCUS Catholic, Coats for Kids, Seminarian support and more!
The Knights also have a heart for service, supporting the parish in non-monetary ways by assisting with the Wednesday Community Dinners, hosting Donut Sundays, leading Lenten Stations of the Cross, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Kent County, and the list goes on!
If you’ve considered membership with the Knights and would like to learn more, or you’re a current member who’d like to become more active, join us for the Get to Know the Knights of Columbus – Open House on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Life Center (enter through Door E, M or N) Everyone’s welcome, bring the whole family!

- Annual Essay Contest for 8th-12th graders. First prize earns $100! See the Sept. 20 bulletin (p.5) for all the details.
- Pray with and reflect on the Sacred Heart of Jesus icon in the Eucharistic Chapel (Door C) brought to St. Robert through the Knights Pilgrim Icon Program.
- Tootsie Roll Drive – Knights members will be present after Masses the weekend of Oct. 10/11. Tootsie rolls are offered as a “thank you” for free-will donations of any amount. Funds raised support local organizations, schools and community programs.
- Donut Sunday – Sunday, Oct. 18 after Masses in Newminster Hall.

Sunday Nursery
Caring Hearts & Helping Hands!
Great news—Sunday Nursery returns beginning THIS Sunday, September 27. Littles are welcome during the 11:00 a.m. Mass, and we’re excited to reopen this space for our young families.
To help us grow, we’re looking for more volunteers. If you or someone you know is interested, reach out to Hans Whitmer, HWhitmer@strobertchurch.org, or click here to sign up.
Nursery Location & Drop-off/PIckup: St. Robert parishioner Ruth Nikutta is our new Nursery Coordinator! The Nursery is available for children age four and under. When dropping off and picking up a child at the nursery, please have the child’s parent or legal guardian sign-in and sign-out the child at the nursery reception desk. The nursery is located through DOOR E, then left through the double doors. The nursery entrance is straight ahead from there.

Community Dinners return Oct. 7!
Food! Faith! Fellowship!
Beginning Oct. 7 and most Wednesdays through spring 2027, Community Dinners are back! We couldn’t be more grateful for those that make these gatherings possible. It truly takes a team to prep, serve, and clean up each week.
We’re looking for volunteers to help prep, serve and clean up — whether that’s chopping vegetables, greeting guests, or helping with dishes — and to enjoy the warm fellowship that makes these dinners such a gift to our parish family. Sign up one Wednesday a month.
