Photo Recap: May Crownings at SRN
|
During May, the month of Mary, our church and school communities honored Mary during two May crownings, one at the first Saturday Mass on May 2 and the other during the May 6 school Mass. The May 2 May crowning was followed by an Easter egg hunt for parish families on our SRN campus to celebrate spring hosted by our faith formation ministry! Enjoy our photo recap from both of these devotions on our Flickr page at the link below:

Congratulations First Communicants!
|
On Sunday, May 3, 72 second grade young people from St. Robert Parish received the holy Eucharist for the first time during First Communion Mass celebrated by Father Tony Russo. “It’s a big day; it’s a great day,” Father Tony said during his homily. “I am so excited for you. You are going to receive the King of Kings, the Prince of Peace, our Lord and our God. He will be within your mind, your body and your soul.” Father Tony went on to explain to the children that they’ve been on a spiritual journey; one that began at their baptisms and continues. Father talked about “transubstantiation” how the substance within the bread and wine are transformed into the body and blood of Jesus Christ, accomplished by the priest through the working of the Holy Spirit.
Addressing the parents of our parish’s first communicants, Father Tony expressed how crucial receiving the sacrament of holy Eucharist is for their children and for them, and encouraged parents to continue to come to Mass every weekend and to bring their children. “When we are hurting, downcast, discouraged,” he said, “we need an encounter with the resurrected Lord which is here in the sacrament of the Eucharist. This is what’s needed, for him to enter our very being and to scatter that doubt and fill us with his love, mercy, and grace.”

Celebrating the Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi
|
Pope Leo XIV has declared a special Jubilee Year on the occasion of the Eighth Centenary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi. The Holy Year began on Jan. 10, 2026, and concludes on Jan. 10, 2027. Catholics are called to more closely imitate the Poor Man of Assisi, becoming models of holiness and constant witnesses of peace during this celebration.

The Senior Citizen Picnic returns this year on Saturday, Aug. 8 with “A Day at the Beach” theme!
This year, 160 guests, along with their aides and drivers, will be invited to attend our Senior Citizen Picnic.
Wheels & Meals Our biggest expenses each year are transportation and food. To help cover these costs, the picnic committee gladly accepts gift cards and monetary donations at any time. Gift cards of any amount to Meijer, Walgreens, Amazon, Aldi and Walmart are welcome and can be dropped off to Molly Reppuhn in the parish office weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or given to one of our committee members. Please note “Senior Citizen Picnic” on any monetary donations.
A Pork-fect Way to Give Back In the past, we’ve received a generous donation of a roasted pig for the picnic. If you, or someone you know would be willing to donate or offer a bargain price for a pig, please contact one of our committee members listed below.
