This Giving Tuesday, we’re fundraising for St. Robert of Newminster’s Samaritan Fund.
So far, we’ve received donations totaling $125! While that may not seem like a lot, it is a difference maker for those we serve through the fund.
Consider this:
- $125 pays for one night in a hotel for a woman and her children trying to escape a domestic violence situation, or
- One counseling session for an individual suffering from mental illness
Our goal this year is to raise $20,000 for the SRN Samaritan Fund, so let’s keep going! To aid our efforts, the Catholic Foundation of West Michigan has generously agreed to sponsor this year’s #GiveCatholicWM campaign with available grants totaling $10,000! If you’ve been considering making a donation, we invite you to wait and give on Dec. 2 to help increase our chances of qualifying for one or more of these grants! (see details below)
Our community’s participation in these five Challenge Grants during 24-hours of giving on Dec. 2 will spark good-natured competition and provides the opportunity to amplify our fundraising efforts! See below for details and timeframes, then plan to make your donation through our SRN-Diocese of Grand Rapids giving page.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to qualify for challenge grants, all donations must be received through the diocesan giving website. Credit card fees will be covered by the diocese which means 100% of the donations received will go to the Samaritan Fund. The Catholic Foundation of West Michigan will issue checks to the winning entities.
