Walk with Jesus-Eucharistic Procession this Sunday

Eucharistic Procession: Bringing Jesus into the world

All are invited to join in our Eucharistic Procession for the
Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ immediately following the 11:00 a.m. Mass this Sunday, June 22. The procession will be followed by Benediction inside the church.

A Eucharistic procession is a wonderful opportunity to worship our Lord and pray together as a community as we witness our faith publicly to the world.

The procession will take place around our campus and along the section of Ada Dr. in front of our church and will conclude with Benediction back inside the church. We will exit and re-enter through Door D. See procession route details below:

WEATHER ALERT: An extreme heat watch has been issued for our area continuing into next week with temperatures into the triple digits being forecast. While we won’t be outside for long, please watch the weather forecast and prepare accordingly.

A POSTURE OF PRAYER: Processions are meant to be a journey of faith, so participants should walk at a slow and deliberate pace, with reverence and attention. Just as we do during Mass, it is essential during the procession and Benediction to cultivate an interior attitude of prayer and worship, acknowledging the presence of Christ.

At-Home Activity: Download, print and assemble your own model of a Eucharistic procession with a priest, servers, and lay people! Download the set from the National Eucharistic Revival blog page here: https://www.eucharisticrevival.org/post/eucharistic-processions-and-pilgrimages-for-children.

Catholic Services Appeal Update: So close! 96% of our parish goal reached!

Thank you to everyone who has returned your Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) pledge card since our last CSA update! We are very close to reaching our parish goal of $281,142.

As of this writing, we are excited to share that we’ve reached 96% of our CSA goal with pledges totaling $269,215, an increase of $25,825 since our last update.

Every gift to the CSA is a gesture of generosity—an act of love that reaches far beyond our pews. Watch here on the diocesan YouTube channel to learn how.

If you have not yet responded, please pray thoughtfully and make your pledge or gift this week — return your CSA pledge card to the parish or make your pledge online at grdiocese.org/csa. We need your help to meet our parish goal. If you are in need of a pledge card, please contact the parish office, (616) 676-9111.

If you have other CSA-related questions, please contact the business office at businessmanager@strobertchurch.org.

Remember that any amount collected over and above our goal remains in the parish. Thank you again for your generosity!

Help us welcome our senior neighbors during the Senior Citizen Picnic Aug. 9

This annual picnic at SRN has been a tradition for over 35 years! It has expanded over the years to include low-income seniors from local nursing homes and senior centers in the Grand Rapids area.

Our parish will be hosting seniors from:

Gaylord House (only Section 8 housing in Ada)
Grandview Apartments
Holy Name of Jesus (Domestic Twin parish with SRN)
Mission Point (formerly known as Metron)
St. Ann of Baldwin
Veteran’s Home of GR (NEW! this year)
Villa Maria

Our St. Robert parish community is incredibly generous with your time, talent and treasure and it makes the day special for everyone.

Many volunteer roles are available, some of which can be done from home! It’s also a great opportunity for families to volunteer together!

Can’t volunteer your time, but still want to support the picnic? Donate an item from the Amazon Wish List. These items will be given out as raffle and game prizes to our senior friends who attend, allowing every guest to go home with a gift.

THE COMMITTEE IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING:

  • Gift cards and monetary donations (any amount to Walmart, Target, Meijer, Walgreens, Amazon and Aldi’s). Please turn them in to Molly in the parish office or to any committee member. Please note “Senior Citizen Picnic” on any monetary donations.
  • Donations of physical items (must be new) so that each of our guests is able to take home a gift. Visit our website by clicking the button below, or stop by the Senior Citizen Picnic bulletin board in the church narthex (near Door D) before or after Masses to pick up a gift ticket or scan the QR code to view the wish list.
  • Volunteers! To serve in various roles leading up to and on the day of the event. Find volunteer sign up and donation information at
strobertchurch.org/events/senior-citizen-picnic/ or beginning this weekend, see the bulletin board in the narthex nearest to Door D.

Thank you to our hardworking picnic committee members! Dawn McDonald, 616-437-1390; Cindy Ritter, 616-240-5990; Anna Crawley, 616-706-6271, or Nancy Castiglione, 616-450-2354. Please contact one of them if you have questions.

Pope Leo XIV sets canonizations of Blesseds Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati for Sept. 7

Pope Leo XIV held the first Ordinary Public Consistory of his pontificate on the morning of Friday, June 13, with Cardinals giving their formal approval for the canonizations of eight Blesseds.

During the ceremony, the Holy Father announced that Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati and Blessed Carlo Acutis will be canonized together on Sept. 7

The canonizations of the two young saints—one from the early twentieth century, the other the first twenty-first-century saint—have been greatly anticipated due to the great devotion among the faithful.
