SEVERE WEATHER POLICY

We live in Michigan, and severe weather is likely this time of year. In very rare circumstances will we cancel the celebration of Mass due to weather. Because of this, we ask all parishioners and friends to exercise caution and practice prudence when making the decision to travel to Mass when road conditions are dangerous.

Furthermore, when Forest Hills Public Schools close due to weather, Saint Robert Catholic School will also close and parish programming will be cancelled for the day unless otherwise noted.

We will post cancellation details as early as we can via email, text message, Facebook, Instagram, our Parish App, and our website.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

12 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration continues every Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Eucharistic Chapel. At least two people are needed every hour to spend time in the quiet and still presence of the Lord. Please make sure you sign in upon arriving to the Chapel — even if you’re only here for a brief period of time.

Children are ALWAYS welcome to participate in Adoration!

The Sign Up Genius has been updated to reflect 30 minute increments for those unable to stay for an entire hour OR those who can stay for half past one hour to half past the next (i.e. 1:30—2:30 p.m. instead of 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.)

YEAR-END GIVING

The Together In Christ campaign is still going strong, and we need your support to reach our goal of $3.7 million for our parish expansion! With our generous 2-to-1 gift match, your end of the year donation will have three times the impact. Whether it’s a one-time gift, a pledge paid over three years, or a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA, your support this season means more than ever.

Join us in building a brighter future for our parish. You can make your pledge online today at strobertchurch.org/together-in-christ/give.

If you’re interested in making a QCD or Stock donation to our Together In Christ campaign, have your financial representative reach out directly to Kevin Singer in the Business Office at (616) 676-9111 ext 111 or email BusinessManager@StRobertChurch.org.

There’s still time to get tickets to this Friday’s Stations of the Nativity concert! Tickets are donation-based. Pay what you can. Donations go toward the cost of operations for this event. All donations exceeding the operations cost will be donated to HELP Pregnancy Aid to support mothers and babies in need in our community.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Please enter through Doors B, C, or D. Due to limited parking for this event, we strongly encourage groups to carpool.

GIFT OF THE MAGI

The Epiphany commemorates the visit of the Magi to give gifts to baby Jesus. It is celebrated on January 6 (a Monday this year) and marks one of the final celebrations of the Christmas season. Several years ago, SRN started the tradition of a “Magi Gift for Haiti” special collection on or around the Epiphany.

With this special collection, we try to emulate Magi gift-giving by making a donation to meet the special needs of Our Lady of Nativity parish in Verrettes. Given the current situation in Haiti, our gift this year will help Fr. Murat acquire food and other goods for his parish and school. Please prayerfully consider making a donation the weekend of January 11 and 12.

For more information on how SRN supports Fr. Murat and the needs of Our Lady of Nativity parish, please contact Tom McDonald, chair of our Haiti Committee, at tmcdonald7287@gmail.com.

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
