Where Did the Chairs Go from the Narthex?
|
We have decided to remove some, but not all, chairs from the narthex. The intention behind this is to encourage more parishioners to be seated in the Sanctuary. The church is a sacred space where we gather to celebrate the Holy Eucharist, the source and summit of the Christian life. Here, we experience God’s presence in a profound and transformative way. Worshiping in the church is not just a personal or individual act but a communal experience. We gather as a community of believers to offer our prayers, praises, and thanksgiving to God. Together, we share in the joy of the Gospel, seek solace in times of sorrow, and find inspiration and guidance for our spiritual journey.
We recognize that the narthex has traditionally served as a space for gathering and fellowship before and after Mass. However, it is essential to remember that the primary purpose of the narthex is not for worship but for community interaction and support. We understand that there may be occasions when the narthex is needed for specific situations, such as attending to a crying child, supporting someone who is not feeling well, and the comfort of our handicapped or elderly parishioners. Don’t worry – we will continue to accommodate these needs and make sure that the narthex remains a welcoming and supportive space for everyone.

With your generous response, to date we have received $263,754.00 in pledges, 94.52% of our parish CSA goal of $279,055.00. 336 of our 2003 households have responded. Thank you for your stewardship! Our goal is 100% participation, which means a completed pledge card from every household.

If you have not responded, please do so as soon as possible. Learn more at GRdiocese.org/CSA. Every gift to CSA, regardless of the size, is imperative to the continuation of our diocesan programs.

Parking Lot and Entrance Closures
|
A friendly reminder that all weekday (Monday through Friday) visitors to the parish should use the West Entrance to our campus. Construction trucks will be using the East Entrance, and we need to limit traffic flow to the area. The service drive on the east side of our campus will be closed indefinitely to the public. Parking by the Newminster Hall/Kitchen entrance will no longer be available. The school entrance is also closed and the office has been moved to the Nursery for the summer. Guests to the school should enter through Door E. The small playground by the Parish Life Center is closed. Be mindful of the fencing when using Doors G and H by the PLC to enter the building. Please see the graphic below for details.

FAITH FORMATION REGISTRATION UPDATE

Registration for the 2024-2025 Faith Formation year will open on Thursday, August 1.

The Catholic bishops of the United States are pleased to offer once again to the Catholic faithful Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, a teaching document on the political responsibility of all practicing Catholics. This statement represents the USCCB guidance for Catholics in the exercise of their rights and duties as participants in our democracy. We urge all people of good will to use this statement to help form their consciences; to teach those entrusted to their care; to contribute to civil and respectful public dialogue; and to shape political choices in the coming election in light of Catholic teaching. The statement lifts up our dual heritage as both faithful Catholics and American citizens with rights and duties as participants in the civil order.

Please join us on Wednesday, July 10 at 5:00 p.m. at Noto’s Old World Italian Dining to support the Kohn family as Jennifer continues her battle with cancer. Tickets are only available at the door. The recommended donation is $15 per adult and $7 per child. All donations are welcome.

What else do I need to know?

- Summer Office Hours: The Parish Office closes at Noon (12:00 p.m.) every Friday this summer through Labor Day. We are still open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to serve you. The School Office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. through June 30. The School Office will be closed for the month of July.
- Celebrate Independence Day at SRN: Join us for Mass on Thursday, July 4 at 9:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary to celebrate the independence of our country. The Parish Office will be closed both Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5.
- Eucharistic Adoration continues every Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Eucharistic Chapel. Sign up for your Holy Hour today! REMINDER: No Adoration on Thursday, July 4!
