New programming!
Introducing JOURNEY! Sixth and seventh grade Young Disciples will JOURNEY with Jesus beginning with the 2022-23 Faith Formation year. While still using the TeenLife EDGE curriculum as a source, new programming will encompass others and be built around the Diocesan standards for 6th and 7th grades.
Sessions will be held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, beginning with a parent and student session on September 25, 2022. (The final May session the 1st Sunday)
We will meet from 3:30 to 5:30 in the PLC. The new format will include social and snack time, Saints of the week, breaking open Scripture, a main topic, and prayer. As we JOURNEY, we will also explore the places the Bible introduces. The Youth Ministry staff is very excited to share this new JOURNEY with all of our 6th and 7th grade Young Disciples.
Introducing COMPASS! Our 8th grade Young Disciples, as well as our Teen Disciples desiring Confirmation, will attend COMPASS. Building upon the new Confirmation formation program established in 2021-2022, preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation will continue to focus on the Holy Spirit as our guide, our COMPASS. Sessions will be held on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, beginning with a parent and student session on September 18, 2022.
We will typically meet from 3:30 to 5:30 in the PLC; some sessions will extend to include the 6:00 Mass for specific Rites. The Youth Ministry staff is very excited to welcome all Young and Teen Disciples on the journey towards Confirmation.
As you look forward to registering your 6th-8th graders for the 2022-23 Faith Formation year, please remember to register your 6th and 7th grader for JOURNEY and your 8th grader desiring Confirmation for COMPASS. Teen disciples desiring to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation should also register for COMPASS.
