There are two main activities to welcome newcomers. First, we work with the parish office to mail out a parish information packet, including this directory. We follow up with a personal parishioner contact to both welcome and answer questions. Second, we acknowledge and recognize their presence periodically at Coffee & Donuts (Sep – May). This provides an opportunity for our newest parish members to meet Fr. Len, and also get to know fellow parishioners. There is a “welcome station” at Coffee and Donuts that is staffed by Welcome Ministry members to greet new people and answer any questions. Many times, Staci Stroud, our Director of Communications, is there to take pictures for the bulletin as well! In addition to newcomers, the Welcome Ministry provides parishioners an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to Stewardship principles and greet parishioners at Mass time. In little less than one year 300 parishioners have signed up to periodically welcome all before Mass, provide the courtesy of opening a door and expressing wishes for a Christ-filled week upon conclusion of the service. To join the growing army of Mass Greeters call Dave or Carol Dvorak at 682-7894. If you are interested in welcoming newcomers by phone, contact Jennifer Fisher, 949-0448 or JACFisher@gmail.com. If you are interested in helping with Coffee & Donuts, contact Jenni Keuvelaar, 581-9848 or blosdog@gmail.com. And welcome to St. Robert of Newminster Parish!

Social Events
Building a strong and vibrant community for all is very important to us at St. Robert's, but we can't do it without YOU! We have several social events that are designed to bring us together for 2010/2011. Bring your favorite appetizer and meet new parishioners at our Appetizer Night on October 16th. Come and socialize, and bid on some amazing items at the First Annual St. Robert's Auction on March 4th. And finally, walk with us at the Fifth Sunday of Easter Walk on May 22nd. As always, we will continue to welcome new parishioners at Coffee & Donuts from September - May.

The Welcome Ministry was born in 2008 to set the tone, in order to build a friendly and outgoing parish community. We minister to new and “old” parishioners alike. The main focus of the ministry is to welcome new parishioners into the community, and help them feel that they are an important and vital part of the parish family.
